Flørlitrappene - The longest wooden stairway with 4444 steps

Flørli has the longest wooden stairway in the world with 4444 steps to the top of a mountain 740m.a.s.l. If you climb it, you will enjoy magnificent panorama views of the Lysefjord. At the base of the stairs is a café and hostel in the historic hydropower station.

I climbed these stairs myself in September of 2014. I started the climb early in the morning and around noon I was at the top. The stairs have gentle and very steep parts. Fortunately, there are enough points to relax and catch a breth. Sadly, I cannot confirm whether the stairs actually have 4444 steps. By arround step 1000, I've lost count.

If you are in Norway and you like a challenging hike, this climb is worth considering. Please note, it is somewhat remote.
